Collection: The Darker Months

This half of the year is all about letting go and retreating inwards, reflecting on our lives and planting intentions for the following year. The four candles in this range are full of woody, deep, autumnal and earthy elements.

The Wheel

We have only two points in the calendar year holding equal hours of light and dark, Spring Equinox (Ostara) and Autumn Equinox (Mabon). From Ostara onwards the duration of daylight becomes increasingly longer than the darkness, peaking its light at Summer Solstice (Litha) until returning to equal light and dark at Mabon. From Mabon onwards the duration of dark holds dominance over the light, peaking its hours of darkness at Winter Solstice (Yule) before returning back to balance again at Ostara.
